delta wing

Aircraft wing shaped like the Greek letter delta Δ. Its design enables an aircraft to pass through the sound barrier with little effect. The supersonic airliner Concorde and the US space shuttle have delta wings.

Also known as an X-20 successor to the famous X-15 rocket planes, the Dyna-Soar was to be a small, delta-wing glider that would carry a pilot and cargo into space.
Since the early 1990s, dozens of ornithology papers have therefore drawn on the mathematics of these delta-wing aircraft.
Palmdale's plants assembled and tested the fighter jets of the early Cold War: the F-86 Sabre and F-100 Super Sabre from North American, Douglas' A-4 Skyhawk attack jet, Convair's delta-wing F-102 and F-106 interceptors, Lockheed's T-33 trainer, F-94 Starfire and double-supersonic F-104, and Northrop's F-89.
