Demus, Jörg (1928- )

Austrian pianist. He studied with Gieseking and Kempff, making his debut in Vienna in 1943, and in London in 1950. He has toured the world in classical repertory and has accompanied leading singers and instrumentalists, playing piano duets with Paul Badura-Skoda. He plays from his own collection of historical instruments.
