Denain

French town in the département of Nord, 40 km/25 mi southeast of Lille, on the River Scheldt; population (2001 est) 20,300. Denain has coalmines and metal industries. During the War of the Spanish Succession, it was the site of the decisive victory of the French forces under Marshal Villars (1653–1734) over the Austrian forces led by Prince Eugène in July 1712.

One of the most remarkable stories from this period occurred in the middle of winter in Denain before a local congregation even existed.
Pentecostal influence on Baptists can be traced to the 1950s, especially north of France in the Denain Church led by Pastor Jules Thobois.
The claims are located in the Tiblemont township of Abitibi, Quebec, an area favourable for vein deposits and in close proximity to Rocmec's Denain and Vauquelin properties.
