Denham Springs

Denham Springs

Town in Livingston Parish, southeast Louisiana; population (1990) 8,400. It is situated on the Amite River, 23 km/14 mi east of Baton Rouge. Settled around mineral springs in the early 19th century, it is today a livestock raising centre, with some light industry.

Louisiana child welfare worker Rachel Polo of Denham Springs was recently honored by AdoptUSKids, a national program to promote foster homes and adoption, for her dedication to children and families.
But after Trey Rountree singled to put runners at the corners with one out, Denham Springs -- which ran off five consecutive victories following a 13-0 loss to San Gabriel Valley in its opener -- couldn't produce the tying run.
Director Joseph Giacobbe said the company received scenery and costume donations from companies like the Twin City Ballet of Monroe, the Tri Parish Ballet of Denham Springs, the Lafayette Ballet Theatre, and Ballet Mississippi of Jackson for this year's Nutcracker.
