Denny and Dunipace

Former burgh now treated as two administrative localities in Falkirk unitary authority, Scotland, on the River Carron, 11 km/7 mi south of Stirling; Denny population (2001) 9,800; Dunnipace 2,440. There is a papermaking industry and iron and steel foundries. The district is rich in historical associations, with numerous prehistoric and Roman remains.

William Wallace, the 13th-century Scottish nationalist, spent his boyhood in the town.
