Denza, Luigi (1846-1922)

Italian singing-teacher and composer. He settled in London in 1879, made a success with many of his light songs, especially ‘Funiculì funiculà’, and was professor of singing at the Royal Academy of Music from 1898.

He studied at the Naples Conservatory.

Works

an opera on Schiller's Wallenstein, over 500 songs, and other pieces.
