Dervaux, Pierre (1917–1992)

French conductor. He studied at the Paris Conservatory, making his debut with the Pasdeloup Orchestra in 1947. He was principal conductor of the Paris Opéra-Comique 1947–53, and the Paris Opéra 1956–70. He conducted the Concerts Colonne in 1958, and the Québec Symphony Orchestra 1968–71. He was director of the Pays de la Loire Philharmonic Orchestra 1971–78, and in Nice 1979–82. he taught conducting at Montreal 1965–72, at the Ecole Normale de Paris, and at the Nice Academy 1971–82.
