Desert Hot Springs

Town in Riverside County, south California; population (1990) 11,700. It is located 14 km/9 mi north of Palm Springs, in the Coachella Valley. Its natural hot springs have made it a popular health resort and vacation area. It has doubled in population each decade since 1960.

Enrique Hernandez, 23, was arrested Thursday at a Canoga Park laundromat after CHP investigators linked him to a van abandoned near the Inland Empire city of Desert Hot Springs, authorities said.
