condominium

Joint rule of a territory by two or more states, for example, Kanton and Enderbury islands in the South Pacific Phoenix group (under the joint control of Britain and the USA for 50 years from 1939).

The term has also come into use in North America to describe a type of joint property ownership of, for example, apartment buildings.

He's building 45 units in the Central Valley that the city considers detached condominiums.
A variety of housing types is envisioned -- targeted to first-time buyers through retirees -- that will include town homes, garden apartments, duplexes, single-family detached condominiums and zero lot line cluster homes, as well as conventional single-family detached homes.
Tours include the sites for the Soledad Townhomes project, where 411 town homes and condominiums are proposed; the Golden Triangle Apartments site, where 180 residential apartment units are sought; the Soledad Circle Estates, where 150 detached condominiums are proposed; and the Centex Homes project, where 167 detached condominiums are requested.
