Deutsch, Babette (1895–1982)| US poet and writer. As well as having an academic career, she translated Russian poetry, and worked as an editor, critic, and writer of adult and juvenile fiction. Her well-received poetry was published in The Collected Poems of Babette Deutsch (1969). |
| She was born in New York City, studied at Barnard College at Columbia University, New York, and lectured at the New School for Social Research, Columbia University, and at many other institutions. |
