Devenish Island

Island in lower Lough Erne, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, known for its ruined ecclesiastical buildings. A monastery was founded here in the 6th century by St Molaise. There is a church, an oratory, and a round tower 26 m/85 ft high, built in the 12th century, and the remains of a 15th-century abbey.

The Shrine of St Molaise, a silver and gold filigree box made to hold the Gospels, is in the National Museum in Dublin.
