Devil's Marbles

Enlarge picture
The strange boulders that make up part of the ‘Devil's Marbles’ granite formation at the very centre of Northern Territory, Australia. Reminiscent in the fading sunlight of the dramatic colourations of Ayers Rock (c. 720 km/450 mi south-southwest), the ‘Marbles’ are not as well known or as easily accessible.

Area of granite boulders, south of Tennant Creek, off the Stuart Highway in Northern Territory, Australia.
