Devine, George Alexander Cassady (1910–1966)

English actor and theatre director. A director of the Young Vic training school from 1946, he was appointed artistic director of the English Stage Company at the Royal Court Theatre, London, 1956, which became the home of the new wave of British dramatists, including John Osborne, Arnold Wesker, and John Arden.
