Devlin, Patrick Arthur (1905-1992)

British judge, a distinguished jurist and commentator on the English legal system. He was justice of the High Court in the Queen's Bench Division 1948-60, Lord Justice of Appeal 1960-61, and Lord of Appeal in Ordinary 1961-64. He was knighted in 1948 and made a baron in 1961.
