Dick, Philip K(endred) (1928-1982)

US science-fiction writer. His works often deal with religion and the subjectivity of reality. His protagonists are often alienated individuals struggling to retain their integrity in a technologically dominated world. His novels include The Man in the High Castle (1962), The Simulacra (1964), and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (1968; filmed as Blade Runner 1982).
