Dick Tracy

Comic-strip character created by US cartoonist Chester Gould 1931. The strong-jawed detective's battles against the ruthless criminal underworld involved such characters as Flattop, Pruneface, Itchy, and the Stooge, with the help of his incapable crew of law-enforcers: Helmlock Holmes, Jo Jitsu, and Go Go Gomez. Dick Tracy became a television series in the 1950s. The film Dick Tracy 1990 starred US pop star Madonna and US actor Warren Beatty.
