Dickinson, Anna Elizabeth (1842-1932)

US orator and lecturer. Speaking on abolition and women's rights launched her on a public career that encompassed Republican political speeches during the Civil War. She later turned to playwriting and acting, but neither was successful.

She was born in Philadelphia and settled in New York.
