Dickinson, Preston (1891-1930)

US painter. A Precisionist, his focus on fact and rejection of emotional responses can be seen in The Factory (1924). His later work, such as in Plums on a Plate (1926) and Still Life with Yellow-Green Chair (1928) became more sensuous.

He was born in New York City. He travelled widely, often visited Québec, Canada, and died in France.
