Opera by Christoph Graupner (libretto by Heinrich Hinsch), first produced at the Theater beim Gänsemarkt in Hamburg, Germany, in the spring of 1707. It tells how Dido is pursued by the Numidian king Iarbas as Aeneas receives his sailing orders from Mercury and Venus.
