Dietsch, (Pierre-)Louis(-Philippe) (1808–1865)| French conductor and composer. He composed an unsuccessful opera to the original French libretto of Wagner's Flying Dutchman, Le Vaisseau fantôme, which was produced at the Paris Opéra in 1842. He conducted the disastrous performance of Wagner's Tannhäuser in 1861. His works include church and organ music. |
