Dietz, Robert Sinclair

Dietz, Robert Sinclair (1914–1995)

US geophysicist. He served as oceanographer for various institutions before becoming a geology professor at Arizona State University. A pioneer in the field of plate tectonics, he also contributed to studies of the mineralogy of meteorite craters and the ocean floor.

He was born in Westfield, New Jersey.
