Digne

Capital of the French département of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, in the Bléone valley; population (1990) 17,400. Perfume is produced and fruit processed. It has a cathedral (15th-19th centuries) and a Romanesque church. There are sulphur springs 3 km/2 mi to the east.
