Dikson

Industrial settlement and seaport in the Krasnoyarsk krai (territory) of the north-central Russian Federation. It is situated at the mouth of the Yenisey estuary. The port lies on the route of the Northeast Passage, pioneered by the Swede Nils Nordenskjöld in 1878, and takes its name from the merchant who financed his expedition.
