Dinton

Park in Wiltshire, England, 14 km/9 mi from Salisbury, on the northern slope of the Nadder Valley. Philipps House, built in 1815 in the neoclassical style and owned by the National Trust, is the principal feature of the park.

Philipps House was formerly the home of the Wyndham family. The architect was Jeffrey Wyatville. It stands on rising ground beneath a screen of beech trees. An earlier building, close to the church, is Hyde's House, built about 1725 in the manner of Christopher Wren, and incorporating some Tudor portions. In the older house Edward Hyde, later Lord Chancellor Clarendon , is said to have been born.
