Dr Zhivago

Novel by the Russian writer Boris Pasternak, published (in Italy) 1957. The novel describes how Zhivago, a doctor and poet, becomes disillusioned with the Russian revolution. It was banned in the USSR as a ‘hostile act’ and only published there in magazine form 1988.
