Dodge, Ethel (Geraldine Rockefeller) (1882-1973)

US philanthropist and dog breeder. She founded Morris & Essex Dog Show, as well as St Hubert's Giralda, an animal shelter. Her estate was incorporated into the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, which is devoted to preventing animal cruelty and encouraging art.

Born in New York City, the daughter of William and niece of John D Rockefeller, she loved dogs and became an accomplished horsewoman. She turned her attention to dog breeding, showing, and judging, and she also wrote extensively on the subject of dogs.
