Doesburg, Theo van (1883-1931)

Dutch architectural painter, designer, and theorist. A leader of De Stijl, he was a keen advocate of a rigorously modern approach to all forms of design, uniting painting, architecture, furniture design, and the decorative arts.

He edited the Dada periodical Mecano under the pseudonym of I K Bonset.
