Domett, William (1754-1828)

English admiral. He commanded the flagship Royal George on the ‘Glorious First of June’ in 1794, was present in the action off Lorient in 1795, and served as flag captain under Hyde Parker in the Battle of Copenhagen in 1801.

Earlier in his career, during the American War of Independence, Domett was present in the action off Ushant in 1778, in the Battle of Chesapeake Capes under Admiral Marriot Arbuthnot in 1781, and in the Battle of the Saints in 1782.
