Dominguez, Oralia (1928- )

Mexican contralto. She made her stage debut in Mexico City in 1950, and sang Cilea's Princesse de Bouillon at La Scala, Milan, in 1953. She was Sosostris in the 1955 first performance of The Midsummer Marriage, at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, and in the same year sang Mistress Quickly at Glyndebourne; she returned for Rossini's Isabella (1957) and was Arnalta in the Leppard-Monteverdi Poppea of 1962. She sang with Deutsche Oper, in Düsseldorf, from 1960.
