Don Giovanni

Opera by Mozart (originally Il dissoluto punito, ossia Il Don Giovanni/The Rake Punished, or Don Juan) (libretto by Lorenzo da Ponte). It was first produced in Prague (Czech Republic) on 29 October 1787; a new version with additions was produced at the Burgtheater, Vienna, Austria, on 7 May 1788. In the story, the dangerous Don Juan has a catalogue of conquests, but he fails to convince the Commendatore, murdered father of Donna Anna, who returns to drag him down to Hell.
