Don Pasquale

Comic opera by Gaetano Donizetti (libretto by composer and G Ruffini), based on Angelo Anelli's Ser Marcantonio, composed by Pavesi in 1810), first produced at the Théâtre Italien, Paris, France, on 3 January 1843. In the opera Pasquale disapproves of the match between his nephew Ernesto and Norina, but changes his mind after a mock marriage to ‘Sofronia’, Norina in disguise.

After its successful performance of La Boheme in The Garden last summer, The Garden Opera Company returns with its deliciously funny performance of Don Pasquale, Donizetti's comic masterpiece.
In addition to a recital tour (including Carnegie Hall) and a series of concerts in the San Francisco Bay area with the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Bayrakdarian sang Norina in Donizetti's Don Pasquale with Opera Colorado in Denver, and in Le nozze di Figaro again with the Bavarian State Opera in Munich.
