Donath, Helen (1940– )

American soprano. She sang in concert from 1958 and made her stage debut at Cologne in 1963; she moved to Munich in 1967 and sang Pamina at Salzburg the same year. In 1971 she sang Sophie at San Francisco and at the Bolshoi, Moscow. Among her recordings are Freischütz, Dido and Aeneas, Palestrina, and operas by Schubert.
