    0.02 sec.

Donawitz-Leoben

Industrial town in the province of Styria, Austria, on the River Mur, 44 km/27 mi northwest of Graz; population (1995) 25,300. Donawitz stands on the left bank of the river, Leoben on the right; the town has been a centre of mining and steelmaking since the mid-19th century.

High-grade steel is produced in the town's rolling mills with the aid of Ruhr coking coal by the so-called Donawitz process. A mining college was founded in Donawitz in 1840.
