Donen, Stanley (1924– )

US film director and choreographer. Known for his imaginative dance sequences, he co-directed two of Gene Kelly's best musicals, On the Town (1949) and Singin' in the Rain (1952). His other films include Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954), Charade (1963), Two for the Road (1968), and Blame It on Rio (1984).
