Donets

River rising in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation and flowing 1,080 km/670 mi through Ukraine to join the River Don 100 km/60 mi east of Rostov. It passes through Ukraine's principal industrial region; see Donets Basin. The Donets is navigable for some 210 km/130 mi, and is ice-bound from December to March.
