Donohoe, Peter (1953– )

English pianist. He studied at the Royal Manchester College of Music and with Yvonne Loriod in Paris, and made his debut in 1979, at the Promenade Concerts. In 1982 he was the joint silver medal winner of Tchaikovsky International Competition, in Moscow, and has made frequent visits to Russia since. He plays modern works as well as the Romantic repertory, and in 1983 gave the first performance of Dominic Muldowney's piano concerto. He played Tchaikovsky's 2nd concerto at the 1993 London Proms.
