Doon

River in southwest Scotland. Flowing from Loch Doon on the border of East Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway unitary authorities, it is 38 km/24 mi in length, and empties into the Firth of Clyde 2 km/1 mi from Ayr in South Ayrshire unitary authority. Trout and salmon are among the fish found in its waters.
