English singer and songwriter. His music, which is guitar-based and largely acoustic, has folk and jazz roots and often has a dark, haunting quality. His albums are Five Leaves Left (1969), Bryter Layter (1970), Pink Moon (1972), and Time of No Reply (posthumous, 1986).
