Draper, Elizabeth (1744–1778)

British woman to whom the novelist Laurence Sterne wrote letters. She was the wife of an official of the East India Company, and met Sterne on a visit to England in 1766. He fell in love with her, and described his feelings in the Journal to Eliza (first published 1904) and Letters of Yorick to Eliza (1773).
