Dreamweaver

Software application for the design, development, and maintenance of Web sites. Originally introduced by Macromedia in 1996, Dreamweaver rapidly became popular because of its WSYWIG interface. Macromedia was acquired by Adobe Systems in 2005.

Dreamweaver versions are available for Windows and Mac platforms. Dreamweaver supports a variety of Web technologies, including Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Javascript, Ajax, PHP, and ASP. Because of the advanced features provided by Dreamweaver it has become popular with many professional Web site designers. In 2007 there were an estimated 3.5 million users of Dreamweaver.
