Dreigroschenoper, Die

Operetta by Kurt Weill (libretto based on Elisabeth Hauptmann's German version of John Gay's The Beggar's Opera, with some additions by Brecht). It was first produced at the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm, Berlin, Germany, on 31 August 1928. It tells the story of how Mack the Knife escapes the gallows.
