Drummondville

Town and administrative headquarters of Drummond County, south Québec, Canada; population (1991) 35,500. It is situated 94 km/58 mi east-northeast of Montréal, on the River Saint-François. Founded as a British military post in 1815, it is a centre of the textile industry.
