Dryden, Hugh Latimer (1898–1966)

US physicist and NASA administrator. Known for his scientific contributions to fluid mechanics and boundary layer phenomena, he gained wide recognition as the first deputy administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and contributed to many technical journals.

He was born in Pocomoke City, Maryland. He became director of research for the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (1947–58).
