Du Quoin

Town in Perry County, southwest Illinois; population (1990) 6,700. It is located 32 km/20 mi north of Carbondale. Du Quoin is a manufacturing centre, producing electronic equipment, processed meats, and bottled beverages. A state fair is held annually in the town on Labor Day.
