Dublin, Louis Israel (1882-1969)

Lithuanian-born US health statistician. His early interests were in biology and mathematics. He was an actuary at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (1909-51). He influenced the keeping of accurate birth and death statistics across the country and wrote prolifically.

He was born in Kovno, Lithuania. His book on suicides, To Be or Not To Be (1933), was once extremely popular.
