Dubna

Town in the Moscow oblast (region) of the Russian Federation, sited at the confluence of the Dubna and Volga rivers 128 km/80 mi north of Moscow; population (2001 est) 67,600. It was founded in 1956 as an centre for nuclear research. There is also metal-working in the town.
