Duddingston

Village in City of Edinburgh unitary authority, Scotland, located on loch of the same name. Duddingston Loch lies at the foot of Arthur's Seat, a hill of volcanic origin, and is now a bird sanctuary. The village has a 12th-century Norman church where the Scottish novelist and poet Walter Scott was an elder.

In 1745 Duddingston was the headquarters of the Young Pretender Charles Edward Stuart before the Battle of Prestonpans.
