Dufferin and Ava, Frederick Temple Hamilton-Temple Blackwood (1826–1902)

English diplomat. He was deputy governor general of Canada 1872–78 and British ambassador in St Petersburg, Russia, 1879–82, and subsequently in Constantinople, Rome, and Paris. He was viceroy of India 1884–88.

In 1897 he became chair of the London and Globe Finance Corporation, but was not responsible for its subsequent financial collapse.
