Duke, David (1950- )

US Republican politician. A fierce campaigner for white rights, Duke founded NAAWP (National Association for the Advancement of White People) and has been linked to far-right, white supremacy groups. Duke worked for the US State Department during the Vietnam War as an instructor for Laotian military officers. As a Republican congressman 1989-93, he authored the conservative House Bill 1990.
