Duke Bluebeard's Castle

Opera in one act by Béla Bartók (libretto by B Balázs), composed in 1911 and first produced in Budapest, Hungary, on 24 May 1918, conducted by Egisto Tango. It recounts how the inquisitive bride Judith tours Bluebeard's blood-spattered castle and joins his former wives in eternal gloom.
